It’s 1997 and I’m interviewing two young tech company founders in a San Francisco cafe. I’ve been in California all week. Flown out from Boston by Inc. magazine to stay at the Hotel Nikko for a single story. Later today, I’ll stroll on the beach with one of the company founders and his dog.
